“ Our second spot in our tour - first Mexican cuisine in this new neighborhood. So glad they set the bar high. Two ways I critique a Mexican joint: the salsas and the horchata (and rice and beans) I ordered two tacos - asada and al pastor. The green sauce went excellent with the carne asada. Best asada I’ve had in a long time (coming from a Mexican). The red sauce that came with the chips went perfect with the al pastor. I will come back for the asada and horchata. (And the lengua taco tour I will begin next month.) ”
“ Taco Tuesdays and sundays are epic. And they don’t make em smaller just cuz the tacos are half off. The sauces are delicious. Who like churros? This is the place to get some. ”
“ El famous never ceases for disappoint, from the food to the service. We go as a group every Tuesday since they have 2 Tacos and they are just wonderful. The quality of the meat is top notch and well seasoned and don’t forget there’s always room for the wonderful variety of flavorful churro options that will make your mouth melt with delicious filling. ”
“ Great food, you'll catch me here during a weekend in The North. The prices are very good too, really hard to beat this place. Also, I like the burritos, they're famous for their burritos. ”
“ This place has really good food and I mean it. The lengua burrito had good flavors with the beans and rice. The nachos were really good too. The service we got was wonderful, he was always checking up on us and make sure we got everything that we needed. Definitely a place to check out especially if you like burritos and Mexican food. ”
“ This place is outstanding! I think this place has been around in Rogers Park for decades I had the taco plate. I thought it was wonderful. Everybody loves to go in here. I have a lot of acquaintances that call this place an institution. You know just great food and hear the burritos tacos whatever you want really good stuff. ”
“ Probably my favorite dive Mexican place in Chicago. I've been coming here for 36 years. Taco Tuesday and Sunday rock. Be certain to try the carnitas pork tacos. You can't beat them and make certain you get a lime. Their beef tacos taste really good on a flour tortilla and I recommend getting cilantro instead of lettuce. It brings out the flavors more. Their salsa is probably the best in the city, certainly in the top of all the ones that I've ever had. It is the gold standard. It's a rich tomato flavor with no burnt flavor in it. The green sauce is great too. But ooo is it hot.. There's no mention of the enchiladas here and they are fantastic. Get the meal deal. It's wonderful and be certain to eat in for that one. ”
“ The customer service here is consistently amazing (Alejandro, Alex, shorter guy with mullet) - they will seriously make your day. Good food (green sauce is addictive) for reasonable prices. Love this spot ”
